Before Using Grill:
1. Wash grill grate according to �Cleaning� section. 2. Preheat the grill on HI for 5-10 minutes. 3. Apply a light coating of vegetable oil or non-stick cooking spray to grill grates.
Griddle
(on some models-Accessory)
To Use:
1. Depending on which basin the grill is located in, push in and turn right or left front control knob to setting. If the right or left rear control knob is turned on, the surface indicator light will glow red. However, the grill element will not heat and the cooktop vent will not operate. 2. Trim excess fat to reduce spattering. Slit the remaining fat on the edges to prevent curling.

The griddle has a non-stick surface, and can be used in place of the grill when the grill module is installed as part of the cooktop. To use the griddle, the grill module is needed. See �Assistance or Service� section to order.

Do not use cookware on the griddle. Do not use knives or metal utensils on the griddle surface. Use only plastic or nylon cooking utensils. Do not preheat on HI. Excessive heat will cause discoloration, shorten the life of the non-stick surface, and may warp griddle and cause damage to the cooktop.

Before removing or replacing griddle, turn control knobs to OFF and allow griddle to cool completely.
Turn once.
To Remove:
1. Remove griddle from the grill element. 2. Remove grill element with terminals pointing toward back of cooktop. Do not tilt the grill element too high. Lifting element over 45° can cause damage to the element terminals.
Turn often.

3. Lift front of module out of basin. 4. Remove drip pan from bottom of module basin. 5. Clean basin. See �General Cleaning� section.
To Replace:

Lower front of module into basin. 4. Line up grill element terminal with receptacle. Push grill element terminal into the receptacle. 5. Place griddle over element, with grease trap towards the rear of the drip pan.
