I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED BY THE EASE OF USE OF THIS DOWNLOAD SERVICE. INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND SIMPLE TO FOLLOW....EVEN BY TECHNOPHOBES SUCH AS MYSELF. THE EMAILS POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...ITS SO EASY PEASY. THE DOWNLOAD CHOICE OF USER MANUALS IS EXTENSIVE AND I COULD NOT FIND A CHEAPER OR MORE EFFICIENT SERVICE ON THE INTERNET. I COULD NOT HAVE MADE A BETTER CHOICE OF INFORMATION PROVIDER. SHOULD I EVER NEED ANOTHER USER MANUAL, THEN THIS IS THE FIRST CHOICE SITE. Changing air direction
Tabs
The louvers in the top of the front panel allow you to control the direction of the cooled air. Use the tabs to direct the air up, down, right, left, or straight ahead.
Saving energy
Along with using POWER SAVER (some models), there are many things you can do to help save energy. � Improve your home's insulation. Seal doors and windows. Close fireplace flue. � Close blinds or drapes on the sunny side of your house. Add awnings. � Make sure drapes or furniture do not block airflow from your air conditioner. � Turn lights and appliances off when they are not needed. � Ventilate your attic. High temperatures in the attic add to the air conditioner's cooling load. � Try not to use heat-producing appliances during the hottest part of the day. � Keep heat registers and cool-air returns closed. � Use exhaust vent fans while cooking, doing laundry, or bathing.
Using the Filter Monitor (some models)
FILTER MONITOR
The Filter Monitor (some models) tells you when the filter needs to be cleaned. When the amount of dirt on the filter reaches a level that would affect cooling performance, a red flag appears under the words �FILTER MONITOR� on the control panel. IMPORTANT: The FAN CONTROL must be set to HIGH COOL or HIGH HEAT for the Filter Monitor to work. If the FAN CONTROL is set to a lower fan speed, turn the setting to HIGH to check the filter. Then return the FAN CONTROL to your desired setting.
Normal operating sounds
When your air conditioner is operating normally, you may hear sounds such as: � Droplets of water hitting the condenser, causing a � Vibrations or noise due to poor wall or window �pinging� or �clicking� sound. The water droplets construction. help cool the condenser. � A high-pitched hum or pulsating noise caused by � Air movement from the fan. the modern high-efficiency compressor cycling on � Clicks from the thermostat cycle. and off.
